Football: First & Premier Division Results

Dandy Town Hornets, PHC Zebras, Flanagan’s Onions, Boulevard Blazers, St. David’s, BAA, Paget Lions, and Somerset Eagles all walked away with wins in recent Premier and First Division football action.

Premier: Somerset Trojans 0 Dandy Town Hornets 2

The Somerset Trojans goalscoring drought has reached 450 minutes as they were defeated 2 – 0 by the Dandy Town Hornets at the Somerset Cricket Club.

The Somerset Trojans came close to scoring the opening goal, when a Justin Corday right footed shot hit the crossbar, but midway through the first half Ernest Trott gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead when the Somerset Trojans defence failed to clear the ball, following a header from player/coach Kwame Steede and Trott was onhand to score from close range.

The Dandy Town Hornets would then double their lead when Angelo Simmons found the back of the net in the second half giving the visitors the win and their first 3 points of the season.

Premier: North Village Rams 0 PHC Zebras 4

The PHC Zebras defeated the North Village Rams 4 – 0 at the Bernard Park, Marco Warren gave the visitors the lead when he converted from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. The second goal did not come until the 74th minute when Na’eem Griffith scored a header from a corner, four minutes later it was 3 – 0 through an own goal, Warren would finish the game off with a spectacular volley in the 87th minute.

Premier: Young Men Social Club 1 Flanagan’s Onions 4

At the Police Field, the Flanagan’s Onions got 2 goals from Keston Lewis as they defeated Young Men Social Club 4 – 1. Markez Laws and Treshun Smith also found the back of the net for the visitors, while Clay Darrell scored the lone goal for the host.

Premier: Devonshire Cougars 0 Robin Hood 0

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the Devonshire Cougars and Robin Hood played to a scoreless draw.

Premier: X-Road’s 0 Boulevard Blazers 4

At the Garrison Field, the Boulevard Blazers defeated X-Road’s 4 – 0, extending the home team’s run without a Premier Division goal to 270 minutes. Aldonte Smith scored twice for the Boulevard Blazers, while TiaeVince Douglas and Jahzardae Samuels added a goal each.

First: Ireland Rangers 2 St. David’s 5

Visiting St. David’s returned to winning ways when they came from behind twice to defeat Ireland Rangers 5 – 2 at Malabar.

Jahnai Ratteray gave Ireland Rangers the lead in the 1st minute, but Diego McCallan would equalize for St. David’s midway through the first half.

Jonathan Bean scored early in the second half to put Ireland Rangers back in front, but then St. David’s took control, they would get goals from Zachary Morris, Marcus Proctor, MaCallan and Eugene Ball to take all three points.

First: Devonshire Colts 0 BAA 3

At the Police Field, BAA got a goal from Tyrell Burgess, Shomouri Simons and Morricko Iris as they defeated the Devonshire Colts 3 – 0.

First: Paget Lions 3 St. George’s Colts 2

Dion Stovell scored a hat-trick to lead the Paget Lions to a 3 – 2 win over the St. George’s Colts at the Southampton Oval. Stovell scored in the 16th and 41st to give the Paget Lions a 2 – 0 lead at the break, but St. George’s Colts would be level at 2 – 2 in after 54 minute when Macai Simmons scored in the 51st and Jahron Dickinson scored 3 minutes later, but Stovell would then score the game winner in the 84th minute.

First: Wolves 0 Southampton Rangers 0

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, Wolves and the Southampton Rangers played to a scoreless draw.

First: Hamilton Parish 1 Somerset Eagles 2

At the Wellington Oval, Somerset Eagles got goals from Marcus Iris-Simmons and D’Andre Wainwright as the defeated the home team Hamilton Parish 2 – 1. Tareek Webb scored the goal for the host.
