Simons Wins HBCU Challenge & SIAC Honours

Marking his fourth victory in recent weeks, Bermudian Trey Simons ran to victory in the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge in North Carolina, and has also been awarded SIAC Male Runner of the Week honours.

Simons, who competes for Morehouse College, covered the 7.71k course in a time of 25:48.1, finishing 29 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Bermuda’s Juma Mouchette, who runs for Virginia State University, was also in action, finishing 38th in the 95-athlete field.

Simons’ Morehouse College finished second out of 17 teams with 45 points, while Mouchette’s Virginia State University finished fourth with 123 points.

In addition, Simons was was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference [SIAC] Male Runner of the Week, with the organisation citing his recent wins.
