Consulate: Social Security Notice For US Citizens

The U.S. Consulate is no longer able able to accept calls, emails, or consultations regarding Social Security services or issues, as the Social Security Administration consolidated their overseas operations into regional offices that provide a full range of SSA services for U.S. citizens residing outside of the USA.

“The Social Security Administration [SSA] has consolidated its overseas operations into several regional offices that provide a full range of SSA services for U.S. citizens residing outside of the United States,” the The U.S. Consulate in Bermuda explained.

“Effective October 1, 2017, individuals residing in Bermuda who require social security services or have questions about SSA benefits must email SJRegion@ssa.gov.

“As of October 1, the U.S. Consulate General in Hamilton is not able to accept telephone calls, emails, or consultations regarding Social Security services or issues.

“However, if citizens have a pending query or service with the Consulate’s consular office that was submitted prior to October 1, the Consulate will continue to assist until the service is completed.”
