WOMB Market For Female Business On Nov 29

W.O.M.B [Women who Own and Manage Businesses] will be hosting their first market for female businesses tomorrow [Nov 29] from 6.00pm to 9.00pm at Bermuda Athletic Association Gymnasium.

A spokesperson said, “This holiday season, add a new market to your shopping list! W.O.M.B [Women who Own and Manage Businesses] a support group for female entrepreneurs will host their first market for female businesses.

“One of the main purposes of W.O.M.B is to provide opportunities for female entrepreneurs showcase themselves and their businesses. In doing research on Women in Entrepreneurship Day, it was discovered that the Wednesday, after Thanksgiving has been sanctioned as Women WOW/Women Wednesday, the day where people are encouraged to support female entrepreneurs in their community.

“Looking as an opportunity to provide a platform for people to support the various female businesses in Bermuda, W.O.M.B is hosting this market,” states the W.O.M.B Facilitator, Stephanie Lee. “Also fitting with GEW Bermuda, as platform supporting economic development in Bermuda.

“The market will be held at Bermuda Athletic Association, this Wednesday, November 29, from 6-9pm. A variety of businesses from across the island, across sectors will be participating. We have more than 25 businesses participating; real estate agents, gift cards and other crafters, bakers. candy makers, artists, Bermuda Books, spa representatives, accountants, quite the variety.

“I’m pleased to have such a number, and a selection of businesses represented. This just shows how influential Bermuda’s Female Entrepreneurs are to our economy. This is an opportunity to showcase the diversity, uniqueness, and originality of Bermuda’s Female Businesses. We encourage the community to come out to show their support. A number of the businesses have donated prizes for the raffle draw at the market.

“Part proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Women’s Resource Centre.

“We are pleased to have partnered with The Women’s Resource Centre, and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation on this event. This would be one of the last events for Bermuda’s Global Entrepreneurship Month. Admission is free for the public.
