“Bermuda Airport Authority was established on 2, March 2017 by the Bermuda Airport Authority Act 2017, and its responsibilities also include the delivery of air traffic control; airport communications, navigation and surveillance; meteorological services; aeronautical information service; and airport rescue and firefighting services. The Authority is also responsible for regulating fees and charges.”

Chairman of the Bermuda Airport Authority Mark Fields, in welcoming invited guests to the official opening said, “Our organisation is less than a year old. We essentially started from nothing, but we are pleased with the leadership of the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer Lester Nelson in moving quickly to establish a strong, experienced team of aviation, engineering and financial professionals, as well as internationally recognised technical advisors to oversee Bermuda’s interests in this large and important infrastructure project.”

Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Regulatory Affairs, Walter Roban said, “I’m delighted to join the Bermuda Airport Authority board and staff in welcoming stakeholders this afternoon. I’m happy to say that the Authority has moved quickly to position themselves in this important role.

“The L.F. Wade International Airport is Bermuda’s only air link to the rest of the world and, therefore, it is vital to our economic lifeblood; essential to international business and tourism.

“We are happy to have these highly qualified Bermudians involved in the protection of our collective interests.”

Where is the airport report, Mr. Roban?! Looks like a replay of the ACBDA report.

Again, the PLP putting politics ahead of Bermuda. Your base loves it though so you’ll be employed until we can’t afford to pay your salary anymore.

  2. Unbelievable says:

Oh so now it’s all “I’m delighted to join the Bermuda Airport Authority board and staff in welcoming stakeholders this afternoon.”.

Last year, it was all doom, doom , doom. Now it’s all very delightful.

    • mixitup says:

Then let me re-phrase it for you… “Although I fully dis-agree with the need to even have this Authority, I’m here anyway. We all would have been better served not handing the operation over to an outside entity, especially that the populace was not buying it.”

Does that sound better? Just like the republicans blaming the democrats for a Gov’t shutdown, when they drove the boat in that direction..

In laymans terms, you sound really dumb questioning The Ministers Professionalism..

      • Jus' Wonderin' says:

        what professionalism?

        • Unbelievable says:

@mixitup…..Professionalism is one thing but forgetting who you are merely for votes is another.

And your unbaked analogy is just that…..unbaked.

  3. Point boy says:

  4. ConcernedBermudians says:

Can you build a dock at the new airport so locals and tourists can get to and from the airport by boat?

  5. puzzled says:

    Smile -E faces.

Hope you are all paying attention to this.

I’m delighted to be at this photo session that makes me and the PLP look good. This is a great moment for Bermuda, and I’d like to apologize to all those seniors we asked to demonstrate in front of the HoA and who get peppered sprayed for no good reason except you helped us get elected. This airport is some kind of sweet.
