Injured Crew Being Transported To Bermuda

The Panama registered car carrier ‘Pegasus Highway’ is heading to Bermuda to disembark two crew members who were injured last night when the “vessel was hit by a rogue wave during cargo inspections, resulting in both crew members falling.”

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “The Panama registered car carrier ‘Pegasus Highway’ is inbound to Bermuda to disembark two Filipino crewmembers, badly injured late last night, 300 miles northwest of Bermuda.

“Vessel was hit by a rogue wave during cargo inspections resulting in both crew members falling, one suffering lacerations to the face, and the other with head, hand and leg injuries.

“Medical treatment was administered onboard with the vessel then 420 miles east of Chesapeake Bay, unable to return to the U.S.A. due to continuing bad weather.

“Pegasus Highway is due off the east end of Bermuda tomorrow afternoon to disembark both casualties.”
