A man pled not guilty to five charges, including taking a vehicle and crashing it into a police car, in the Supreme Court Arraignment Session on Thursday.

Lawrence Smith was charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent on December 18, 2017, and later crashing that vehicle into a police car on Khyber Heights Lane.

In addition, he was charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm to a man. He was also charged with assaulting him with intent to rob him. During that offence, he was also charged with using an imitation firearm. He was charged with having a bladed article, a knife, while on Lighthouse Road.

The later four offences were said to have occurred on December 19, 2017. He pled not guilty to all charges.

The trial date is set for April 3, 2018.
