Football: Premier Division & Digicel Cup Results

North Village Rams, Flanagan’s Onions, Robin Hood, Footy Kings, West End United and Tuff Dogs all walked away with wins in this weekend’s Premier Division and Digicel Cup football action.

Premier Division

PHC Zebras 2 North Village Rams 3

The North Village Rams came from 2 – 0 down to throw the Premier Division title race wide open with a 3 – 2 win over the current league leaders PHC Zebras at the PHC Stadium.

The PHC Zebras took the lead in the 6th minute when Cecoy Robinson found the back of the net, Tre Ming would double the lead for the PHC Zebras in the 14th minute, but the North Village Rams would pull a goal back in the 22nd minute when Keith Jennings scored.

The North Village Rams fightback continued when Keishen Bean scored in the 68th minute and substitute Shayne Hollis would score the visitors winner in stoppage time to earn them a big win and hand the PHC Zebras their second straight defeat of the season.

Flanagan’s Onions 3 Young Men Social Club 2

The Flanagan’s Onions came from behind to defeat Young Men Social Club 2 – 1 at the BAA Field in a bottom of the table clash.

Clay Darrell gave Young Men Social Club the lead in the 30th minute, Philip Mallory doubled the lead in the 40th minute, but Treshun Smith would score for the Flanagan’s Onions in the 49th and Shaki Swan netted twice in the 80th and 87th for Flanagan’s Onions to win.

Corona Digicel Cup Quarter-Finals

Vasco 0 Robin Hood 5

Robin Hood advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Digicel Cup with a 5 – 0 win over Vasco, Robin Hood got two goals from Ricardo Ponte and Aaron Nelson, with Evin O’Reilly adding the other.

Footy Kings 4 BAA 1

Ryan Nesbitt scored 2 goal to lead Footy Kings to a 4 – 1 win over BAA, Tarik Jennings and Marcus Johnson added a goal each, while Nelson Merieles scored the lone goal for BAA.

West End United 6 Bermuda Regiment 2

West End United moved into the Semi-Finals with a 6 – 2 win over the Bermuda Regiment, Dylan Desilva scored a hat-trick for West End United, while Jelani Butterfield, Marco Mota and Lamaul Crofton all added a goal each, while Shea Smith scored the two goals for the Bermuda Regiment.

Tuff Dogs 2 [4] Flanagan’s Onions 2 [2]

This game was decided by kicks from the penalty mark, with Tuff Dogs defeating the Flanagan’s Onions 4-2. The match ended 2 – 2, the Flanagan’s Onions got two goals from Gav Thomason in regulation time, while Lorenzo Simmons and Derek Brangman scored a goal each for the Tuff Dogs.
