  1. Intersting says:

I had no idea the good reverend worked for Govt or the BIU.

    • Rockfish#2 says:

A picture is worth a thousand words!

This fails the smell test,Burt must explain why Tweed is present.

      • sandgrownan says:

Genevieve. Calling him Tweed validates his son of the soil nonsense.

      • Black Soil says:

So under the PLP all will be quiet right? No thuggery right? No shutting down of parliament right? No fake protests right?

    • Onion Juice says:

Well I guess if Decosta can be on de plane with de JetGate crew ………..

  2. Opinion Matter says:

    They meet to discuss?

  3. nerema says:

Why would a pastor be there?

    • wahoo says:

To pray for forgiveness and check for hidden mikes.

But why is Zane there? Last I heard Island construction wasn’t unionized and he does not hold a portfolio.

  4. San Patrick says:

    Tail wagging the dog!

  5. sandgrownan says:

Why is Genevieve at a Government/Union meeting? Isn’t he outside the parameters of his work permit for a “preacher” as opposed to a political activist?

    • Rockfish#1 says:

Remember,CF proclaimed Tweed to be a friend of the BIU.
If there was ever any doubt as to really runs Bermuda,it has been removed.
Over to you Minister Walton Brown!

    • Onion Juice says:

Didnt you know Dr.E.F.Gordon was a certified doctor, and Dr. Babara Ball and there were numorous Pastors who graced our island who took up the cause to challange racist injustice in our island.
With Tweed its called Karma they tried to shaft him but now he’s shafting back.
Gone are the days were the powers that be can bully around those who speak for the people, get over it its a new day.
      What goes around comes around.

      • Double S says:

        “What goes around comes around.”

Can I ask, based on that logic, what makes you better then the people of yesteryear? You and the racists of the past are exactly the same. No difference other than skin color. You are what you hate and too dumb to see it.

Geneieve (not Tweed BTW) flouted our work permit rules. If any other foreigner did that you would be screaming racism, privilege, yada, yada, yada.

      • sandgrownan says:

I don’t think the issue is that he’s a preacher (misguided as I think that is), the issue is that he’s a foreigner on a work permit. He’s working outside of his remit, and worse, inserting himself in policy.

If this were the other way round, folks would be marching against Parliament.

        Don’t you see the hypocrisy?

      • nerema says:

So you’re ok with expats muscling in and taking control of Bermuda then.
Only it sounded like you were against that a few months ago. Changed your mind have you?

      • Stevie says:

Bunion juice you moron. All ministers of any church from overseas including tweed has to be processed by imigration. Obviously not for the rev twit now PLP/BIU around.

      • Toodle-oo says:

I hope you feel the same way if someone from Canada ,or better yet, New Zealand who’s here on a work permit takes up the SSM issue and rails against your government .

  6. inna says:

Gov’t meeting with the gov’t, again?! I thought 24-12 was all you guys needed to do things how you want?

  7. spanner breath says:

    Looka Zaney, hanging in there…
They must be discussing ALL THOSE JOBS they’ve created, or the bus schedule.

  8. Point boy says:

How is a work permit holder an official for the BIU?

    • Stevie says:

The law says no. Also no reverend/pastor or whatever is allowed to be affiliated with any union. They have to be a neutral person. Sorry but BIU & rev twit are out of line.

  9. Diplomat says:

Ahhh, all friends and family back in the same room again, carving up Bermuda for their own ends, and never that of the population.

I assume that we’ll still be seeing homeless guys still homeless in 4 years, as an example of someone they should be helping but never do.

  10. Chaos Theory says:

Premier David Burt, Minister Walter Roban, Minister David Burch and Attorney-General Kathy Simmons met with Bermuda Industrial Union officials recently.”

I can see the named government officials, and some BIU officials, but in what capacity were the following persons there:

    1. The Work Permit Reverend?
    2. Zane DeSilva ?
    3. Derek Burgess ? – I appreciate he is a past president.

  11. Oh really says:

Pictures tell a thousand words. Had the tables been turned Furbert would be demanding the so call pastor to be shipped out. Over stepping his work permit. WOW

  12. Triangle Drifter says:

Oh look, a family get together.

  13. simple says:

    yup 24 12 right?!
the year the plp got voted out 2012
the year we say not this again 2024

  14. Dready says:

Zane and ewart have union employees?

  15. Enough says:

Some explanations please. Teeed is so far removed from his work permit he’s almost back home in the States!

If photos like this had taken place 12 months ago we wouldn’t hear the end of it!!

  16. peter l says:

tweed should not even be present at meeting

  17. Point boy says:

Only Burt was offered a drink?

  18. somuchless says:

Honestly those who voted plp can’t be that blind sighted. Why is tweddle dee in gov and union meetings????

if this was the oba levarne and her side kicks would be marching up to cabinet banging their pots and pans.

    My o my

  19. Hmm says:

In what capacity is Glenn Blakeney there?

  20. Me says:

Kinda scarey ominus Times when all we hear in the news in government photo ops and posed meetings and wishy washy pretend ideas and fantasies meanwhile nothing changes

  21. Significant Other says:

Don’t you guys get it yet? THEY DON’T CARE!! They got elected on a platform of race hate and lies, and now they’re in, it’s two fingers up to the very people who got them elected. We should all be very afraid. Anyone remember why they were voted out last time? That’s where we’re headed again, only from a much, much worse starting point.

    • mixitup says:

Lol…^^ I find this type of paranoia hillarious!! Can only come from one faction.

  22. Alan says:

Obviously Reverened Tweed’s new work permit must permit a sideline down at the BIU. I simply cannot imagine such a nice man committing an immigration violation. Nor would the BIU ever allow such a thing! A few years ago a BIU shop steward at my former job in a large hotel reported me to immigration for taking out some trash to the dumpster. Well a lovely gentleman from Immigration was all set to deport me until I pointed out to him that I’m Bermudian. Then he asked me to please stop getting myself reported as people like me (I think he meant Bermudians who look like me) waste a lot of his time…

  23. Stay woke says:

Examine yourselves. As the world mourns the passing of Rev. Billy Graham who counselled every president since Eisenhower and other leaders including HM the Queen, an ordained man whose counsel was sought and encouraged by leaders and who spent countless hours in the Oval Office just what is your problem with Rev. Tweed being present in such a meeting? Examine yourselves and be honest.

  24. Unbelievable says:

Haha what’s the point of this gathering of cohorts and mates?

  25. De Pleeple says:

No body has told us what they are smiling about and why nobody is writing noteses. I hope they tell Depeeple what de unions are doing with all de money we have been paying them for de last 65 years.

  26. somuchless says:

Can you imagine that tweddie calls himself a reverend? He should be ashamed for all the foolishness he does each and every day.

  27. Wagwon says:

    Preparing for the next election??
