Video: Sunday Feb 4th ‘Good News’ Spotlight

News that Lamont Marshall broke the Bermuda 5,000 metre indoor record, the Bermuda Lionfish Taskforce granted $10,000 to Atlantic Lionshare, a new medical practice is set to open in Hamilton employing 20 people, and Leopold Mills, Martha Dismont, and Robert Horton were inducted as Honorary Fellows were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, Flora Duffy was named 2017′s best overall female triathlete, Trey Mallory was crowned the Broward Junior Tennis Boy’s Under 18 Singles Champion in Florida, Delray Rawlins named in the the MCC Champion County lineup, and Bermudian singer Marvin Ford landing a part in the “The Last Ship” musical in the UK.

Other good news stories included Bermudian skier Tucker Murphy being set to represent the island in the Winter Olympics, the Bermuda National Library receiving a donation from the family of the late Jeremy Frith, and the netball All-Star U12, U16, and Senior games were held.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including the January edition of the Top 10 Bernews ‘Photo of Day’, a hockey triple header, Canadian Navy vs Bermuda ball hockey action, the Golf Four-Ball Championships, the Bermuda Motorsports Expo, harness pony racing and the Mr & Miss CedarBridge Academy.
