Students Join UGA Bermuda Market Study Group

The Bermuda Foundation For Insurance Studies [BFIS] has again been invited to participate with the University of Georgia [UGA] students in their Bermuda Insurance Market Study Group.

This is an annual teaching and training exercise of the top-ranked Risk Management and Insurance Programme at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business led by Prof. Jenny Atkinson running from March 12 – 14th.

BFIS Students Bermuda March 7 2018

The students will spend two days meeting with insurance professionals at Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers [ABIR], Bermuda Insurance Institute, Bowring Marsh, Chubb, CPCU Bermuda Chapter, JLT Specialty, Marsh Management Services, Price Forbes, Sompo International, Third Point Re and XL Catlin with work-shadowing on the third day at Allied World, Aon, Arch Insurance,. Sompo International, JLT and Willis Towers Watson.

Cathy Lapsley, Executive Director of BFIS said, “We are extremely grateful to UGA for this opportunity which has helped Bermudian students since the UGA programme started in 2012.

“This year’s participating Bermudians are all recent graduates who have contacted BFIS for assistance in finding employment in the insurance sector: Jahlaé Albuoy [Acadia University – Business] Katie Arnfield [University of Kent – Business] and David Lunn [Trinity College Dublin – Political Science, Philosophy and Economics] and whose resumes are listed on the BFIS website.”
