Scores of shavees at Saltus raised more than $130,000 for St. Baldrick’s – bring the total amount collected by the school for the charity to over $1.4m.

It was the 11th year the school has taken part in St. Baldrick’s and today [March 16] almost 90 students, teachers and parents either shaved their hair or took part in Locks for Love.

Head of School, Deryn Lavell, who witnessed her first St. Baldrick’s, said, “It was an incredible event and I have the utmost respect for those that shaved their hair. The amount of money raised was astounding and makes me very proud of all those who took part.

“The St. Baldrick’s Foundation raises money for research into childhood cancers and we hope that by doing events such as this, Saltus is playing a part in saving young lives.”
