Bermuda YAO Baseball League Gets Underway
The opening day of the YAO Season got underway at the YAO Ball Parks in St. David’s.
In Senior League play the Cubs defeated the Orioles 4-3, Kaelin Paynter led the Orioles, keeping the Cubs to one run for 4 innings, Paynter struck out 10 in his effort.
The Cubs were led by Noah Simons, Sam Resnik and Micaiah Furbert, holding the Orioles to 2 hits and striking out 13. The top of the 5th, saw the Cubs breakout, for 3 runs. A leadoff double by Gabe Concepcion, started it for the Cubs.
A couple of walks and passed balls loaded the bases. Resnik singled to left, scoring Jannis Roberts and Frankie Arnold, giving the lead to the Cubs for good. Micaiah Furbert closed out game, striking out 2 and forcing a ground out.
