Football: First & Premier Division Results

PHC Zebras, Robin Hood, Somerset Trojans, Southampton Rangers, Paget Lions, and St. George’s Colts all claimed victories in this weekend’s Premier Division and First Division football action.

Premier: Young Men Social Club 0 PHC Zebras 8

The PHC Zebras wrapped up the Bermuda Football Association Premier Division League title following their 8 – 0 win over Young Men Social Club.

The game was only 3 minutes old when Idrees Sharrieff gave the PHC Zebras the lead, Marco Warren would double the lead in the 10th minute, Young Men Social Club would have a man sent off in the first half as the two teams went to the break with the score at 2 – 0.

Second half goals from Na’eem Griffith, Sharrieff, Warren, Dunte Albouy, Cecoy Robinson and Keishon Bean earned them the title.

Premier: Robin Hood 7 Boulevard Blazers 3

At the BAA Field the defending league champions Robin Hood secured second place with a 7 – 2 victory over the Boulevard Blazers.

Robin Hood had a 3 – 0 lead at the break following goals from Shakir Smith, Lejuan Simmons and Arnezha Astwood. In the second half Khiry Easton pulled a goal back for the Boulevard B;azers in the 52nd minute, Antwan Russell would restore the Robin Hood three goal lead when he scored in the 54th minute. Simmons would score his second of the game in the 66th minute with Aldonte Smith pulling a goal back for the Boulevard Blazers in the 69th minute. Simmons would complete his hat-trick with another goal in the 71st minute before Smith closed out the scoring for Robin Hood in the 86th minute.

Premier: North Village Rams 1 Devonshire Cougars 1

At the Bernard Park the North Village Rams and the Devonshire Cougars played to a 1 – 1 draw, the North Village Rams got a goal from Pierre Smith, while Lovintz Tota scored for the Devonshire Cougars.

Premier: Somerset Trojans 3 X-Road’s 2

At the Somerset Cricket Club the Somerset Trojans came from 2 – 0 down to defeat X-Road’s 3 – 2, X-Road’s got goals from Jahmel Swan and Teiko Lowe, while the Somerset Trojans got goals from Malachi Jones, Justin Corday and Jaz Rattery-Smith.

First: BAA 2 Southampton Rangers 4

At the BAA Field the BAA were crowned League Champions despite falling to a 4 – 2 defeat at the hands of the Southampton Rangers who have yet to taste defeat this season.

Khalil Symonds gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 21st minute, only for an own goal to level the score in the 45th minute. BAA would take the lead in the 63rd minute when Drewonde Bascome scored after a good build up, but then it became the Ezekiel Stoneham show, as he scored in the 68th, 85th and 90th minutes, the however was not enough as the Southampton Rangers did not get promoted.

First: Paget Lions 4 Ireland Rangers 0

At the Southampton Oval, the Paget Lions picked up the three points needed to advance to the Premier Division with a 4 – 0 win over Ireland Rangers. Dion Stovell gave them the lead in the 33rd minute, Stovell doubled the lead in the 48th minute. Jenson Rogers would then make 3 – 0 when he found the back of the net in the 69th minute and in the 88th minute Nelson Carpenter would close out the scoring for the Paget Lions.

First: Somerset Eagles 1 St. George’s Colts 4

At the White Hill Field the St. George’s Colts defeated the Somerset Eagels 4 – 1, the St. George’s Colts got single strikes from Jelani Carlington, Donovan Thompson, Jarazhino Bassett and Caylon Wade, while Cardel Henry scored the lone goal for the Somerset Eagles.
