Shelly Bay Playground Repair Work Continues
Repair works to fix the damage at the Shelly Bay playground caused by last month’s winter storm continues, the Public Works Ministry confirmed, and the “public will be advised once the area has reopened.”
On March 5th, the Parks Department advised that “as a public safety precaution the Department of Parks is advising that due to storm related damage, the Shelly Bay Park beach and playground areas will be closed until repairs can be conducted.”

The Parks Department previously confirmed that the storm related damage to the area included beach erosion which caused unstable ground, a flooded playground which resulted in uprooted structure foundations, and exposed utility wires which presented a safety hazard.

Should’ve outsourced this work to a private company, it’d be done already. We’ll see how long the seawall they’re building holds up.
It’s taken W&E more than a month to fix a wall on My Lord’s Bay. Half of that time was them loafing around all day in the park.

Careful now…….they only lay a dozen concrete blocks a day. Looks like at least another month for that My Lords Bay site.
You think that they would feel just a little guilty knowing that the people that pay them are driving past and watching.
