Gun Salute To Mark The New Royal Baby

[Updated] Governor John Rankin has “commanded that a Gun Salute [GS] be fired to commemorate the Royal Birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child,” the Government confirmed this evening.

“The salute will take place on Tuesday, 24 April 2018 at Albouy’s Point. “The Gun Salute will involve the firing of a single round followed by a volley from a firing party. It will commence at 1800 hrs.”

The royal baby is fifth in line to the British throne, after grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and two siblings.

The newest addition to the royal family is a younger brother to Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2, and is Queen Elizabeth II’s sixth great-grandchild.

Update Apr 24, 8.11am: A Government House spokesperson said, “Government House has announced that His Excellency the Governor has instructed the Royal Bermuda Regiment to fire a Gun Salute and rifle volley to mark the Royal Birth of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child.

“The Royal Bermuda Regiment will fire the Gun Salute and rifle volley at Albouy’s Point at 1800 tomorrow the 24th of April. The Regiment has marked Royal Births on two other occasions in recent times: 22 July 2013 for the birth of Prince George and 2 May 2015 for Princess Charlotte.

“Members of the Public are welcome to come and witness the Salutes at Albouy’s Point to mark this happy occasion.“

        My whole point, European countries should be embarrassed and ashamed at how much genocide,turmoil and displacement of Culture they caused to aquire wealth for their Empires then expect non-European people to be subject to their culture and ideology.

        What you have to understand about Onion Juice is that they aren’t outraged by colonialism, slavery, privilege and supremacy…

        They’re jealous.

        They don’t want the problem to be fixed.

        They simply wish to be the one doing the oppressing.

        The evidence of this is easy to see. Just look at how quickly they jump to oppress someone else when they have the privilege.

        This way of thinking is bad for Bermuda, no matter who is doing it.

      Is that really the most appropriate response to this news? Like it or not people are celebrating the birth of a royal. If this is really how you feel then why even click the article in the first place. As a British Dependent Territory, Bermuda has chosen to celebrate, if you don’t agree with it then just don’t participate. I’m sure not everyone agrees with your every move in life. To each his own!
