Man Taken To KEMH After Falling Off Ladder

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to an industrial accident this morning [Apr 13] in Southampton, after a man fell off a 6 foot ladder.

A BFRS spokesperson said, “At approximately 8:52am this morning, Friday, April 13, 2018, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of an industrial accident at the Viking Foods on Industrial Park Road in Southampton.

Fire Service spokesperson Lieutenant Russann Francis said, “We received a report of a male who had fallen off of a 6 foot ladder, struck his head and was not responding normally.

“We responded to the incident with one vehicle and four personnel where we found the patient had received a laceration to the rear of his head from the fall. We assisted personnel from KEMH with assessing the patient and securing him for transport via the ambulance.

“Department of Health and Safety were notified of the incident.”
