Police Advisory: Safety Tips While Socialising
In light of recent suggestions that “women have had foreign substances unknowingly placed into their beverages at liquor licensed establishments,” police provided a few safety tips to consider while out socialising.
A spokesperson said, “In light of the voice note circulating through social media and WhatsApp recently that suggests women have had foreign substances unknowingly placed into their beverages at liquor licensed establishments, the Bermuda Police Service would like to remind members of the public of the following safety tips to consider while out socialising.
- Ideally, if going out to socialise, go with a friend or group of friends – not alone.
- If out socialising in a group, stay together. Look after your friends and don’t go off on your own.
- Always be aware of your surroundings and the people around you.
- Do not let your drink out of your sight.
- Do not accept drinks from people you don’t know.
- Do not accept a ride from anyone you don’t know after a night of socialising.
“If you suspect or observe anyone tampering with drinks while out socialising, call the main police telephone number 295-0011 – or in an emergency 911, immediately.
“Alternatively, persons with information regarding the alleged perpetrator[s] of such incidents can also call the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”

Common sense aink too common nowadays smfh….
How about we teach our young men not to be sexual abusers? May we should teach them to respect women not to spike their drinks and take advantage of them. Women have a right to go out and feel safe and not worry that some loser is going to spike their drinks and rape them.
