Q: Why did you decide to take part in the Marine Expo 2018?

A: The connection between the Sea Cadets and waterborne activities and the maritime industry is pretty strong, of course, and the Marine Expo is a great opportunity for us to promote that. We are also very proud to be an important part of the St George’s and Bermuda community, and the Expo is a great community event.

Q: Have you taken part in past years? If so, what was the experience like?

A: We have taken part in the Expo each year, and the experience has been excellent each time. The turnout is great, the energy is amazing, and the community support really makes it all happen.

Q: What is the purpose for you being there – what will you be educating people about or promoting?

A: We take part to aid in the recruitment of new cadets and – much more importantly – recruitment of new adult volunteers. Those are specific goals of ours, but the general aim is to promote the Bermuda Sea Cadet Corps and generate further support for what we do.

Soltrino – an online store offering sun-safe clothing, sunscreens, hats and other accessories, run by Michelle Viera and Linda Cook.

Q: Why did you decide to take part in the Marine Expo 2018?

A: We believe that sun protection and boating go hand in hand. People realize that when they are on the water all day that they need to protect themselves from the sun, especially if they are out between 10am and 4pm when the UV index is at its highest. We are looking forward to a great showing at the event this Sunday.

Q: Have you taken part in the event in past years? If so, what was the experience like?

A: Yes. Soltrino took part in the Marine Expo 2017 and we had a tremendous response.

Q: What is the purpose for you being there – what will you be educating people about, selling or promoting?

A: We think many people are knowledgeable about sun protection but want to reinforce the dos and donts while we are at the event while showing them that sun protection is both comfortable and fashionable. Our stall will have a great selection of hats, swim shirts and sunscreens for sale, making it easy for Bermuda’s residents, whether they are boating on the water, out on the beach or simply enjoying a day outside, to get the sun protection they need. Customers who attend the Marine Expo will get first pick of our new line of hats from Kooringal, Millymook and Dozer.

The Restless Native – a charter boat company boasting a locally built catamaran.

Q: Why did you decide to take part in the Marine Expo 2018?

A: We thought it would be a great way to promote our business. We are looking forward to seeing all the different vendors as well as welcoming everyone onboard The Restless Native for a drink!

Q: Have you done this before in past years? If so, what was the experience like?

A: No, this our first time participating and we are very much looking forward to experiencing this year’s expo.

Q: What is the purpose for you being there – what will you be educating people about, selling or promoting?

A: Our purpose for participating is to advertise our charter boat, The Restless Native, Bermuda’s only locally built catamaran! We have done a number of upgrades over the past few seasons, and we are looking forward to the chance to show locals what we have to offer. We operate sail and snorkel excursions, sunset cruises and private charters throughout the summer season. We would like to invite people onboard to have a look around and enjoy a cup our rum swizzle and our famous freshly baked cookies.
