Soup A Bowl Bermuda May 2018

Jennifer Mahoney, Executive Director of The Eliza DoLittle Society, said, “This year’s event will be a celebration of the life and philanthropic contributions of Margaret Vaucrosson, one of the charity’s founding members who passed way in late 2017. What better way to honour her memory than to spend an evening raising funds for an organization she co-founded.

“The planning committee have incorporated elements of things Margaret Vaucrosson loved throughout the event, including artwork from her favorite artist, Alfred Birdsey. A piece of his work will be on offer, along with one created by his daughter, Jo Linberg, specifically for the event. The two pieces will be sold as a set and stand to make some collector extremely happy.”

“Each year chefs from around the Island compete for the coveted title of best soup and all the bragging rights that come along with it.This year’s lineup includes entries from Beau Rivage, RBYC, Buzz, Chopstix, Docksider’s, Hamilton Princess, New Catering Concepts, The Loren and reigning champions Tempest Bistro. In addition, the culinary department from the Bermuda College will be represented by their best and brightest up and coming young chefs.

“The auction items will include some fantastic and unique items. We have attempted to create bundles that provide bidders with experiences, opposed to a one off item. One of our fellow third sector partners The Bermuda Sloop Foundation has graciously assisted us in putting together one of these fantastic bundles and promises to be an unforgettable experience for some lucky bidder.

“The demand for food support in the local community continues to increase and without fund raisers such as this, we would not be able to meet that demand. We appreciate the support exhibited by all those businesses that have made the event possible, especially our sponsors HSBC, Lindo’s, Hamilton Princess, Gosling’s, and GiMi.”

“Tickets can be purchased through PTIX or by contacting The Eliza DoLittle Society at 333-4483 or teds.director@gmail.com.”
