Advisory: Heroes Day Holiday Trash Schedule

The Ministry of Public Works is advising the public that due to the National Heroes Day holiday on Monday, June 18, trash that would normally be collected on that day will be collected on Saturday [June 16].

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works is advising that due to the National Heroes Day holiday on Monday June 18th, trash that would normally be collected on that day will be collected on Saturday, June 16th.

“As a reminder, Monday trash collection areas include all of Sandys Parish and Western Southampton Parish down to, and including Church Road.

“All other waste collection will be unaffected by the holiday.

“Recycling will be collected the week of June 18th on Thursday in the west, and Friday in the east per the 2018 Garbage and Recycling Schedule.

“Changes to waste collection days due to public holidays are posted here.

“For further information about waste management visit here or call 278-0560.”

    Adopt a rat foundation ,in conjunction with SPCA would like to take this opportunity to thank colonel Burch for all that he has done in regards to rat proliferation and welfare there of.
    Called rodentia…or rat…have really very few proponents throughout history butt coin the word ratatania to Colonel Burch and he will reply….remember Been!
    If Michael Jackson can sing a song for a rat then the least we can do is feed them.
    Thank you Sir for having the compassion to feed them…let us all assistance Him by placement of all refuse one day early.

      Yeah, Col. Burch is a hero all right – areas in St. George’s are overrun with garbage waiting for collection. When can they expect it to be cleared?

    Do yourself and everyone else a favour and buy a sturdy, lidded trash bin. Rats won’t get in. This is how most of the world keeps the rodent population in check.
