Skyport: Partial Power Outage, No Flight Delays

June 1, 2018

LF Wade International Airport experienced a partial power outage this afternoon [June 1] before a BELCO crew arrived on site and restored the power at 2:50pm.

Skyport President Aaron Adderley said, “The LF Wade International Airport experienced a partial power outage at around 1:07pm, resulting in the loss of primary lighting and air conditioning in certain areas of the passenger terminal.

“Exterior doors were opened where possible to help cool the facility for the benefit of passengers and airport employees, while bags were manually processed where needed by airport personnel. Belco crew arrived on site and restored the power at 2:50pm.

“Belco remains on site and will continue its investigation through the remainder of the afternoon and weekend to ensure that any residual issues are resolved. There were no flight delays as a result of the power loss.”
