A 41-year-old Pembroke man has been banned from driving for 18 months.

Lionel Roberts got on his motorbike while more than three times the limit and crashed into another motorcyclist in the early hours of July 7.

Roberts and the rider of the other motorbike were both taken to hospital for treatment after the accident, which happened at 2am on Front Street.

Magistrates’ Court heard that Roberts later told police that he had had “a few” drinks earlier in the night.

He was later discharged from hospital and appeared at court this morning with his arm in a sling.

Roberts apologised for his actions at court today and was fined $1200 as well as banned from driving.
