Southampton Win Western County Opener
The Southampton Rangers began the defense of their Western County Cup Trophy by posting 333/6 after 50 overs against Somerset Bridge at the Southampton Oval and then bowled them out for 122 to win by 211 runs.
Four players would score half centuries, with Shannon Raynor the top scorer on 89 off 94 deliveries, he hit 10 fours and 2 sixes, captain Dion Stovell added 67 not out, Janeiro Tucker hit 2 fours and 7 sixes on his way to his 24 ball 55 and Ricardo Brangman scored 54 off 44 balls.
Noel Woods was the pick of the Somerset bridge bowlers with figures of 10-0-46-2, while Donnie Charles bowled 10-0-71-2.
In reply Somerset Bridge were bowled out for 122, Torleair Caines was their top batsmen with 36, while Vernon Eve was the chief Southampton Rangers destroyer with figures of 8.1-0-34-5, while Stovell bowled 4-2-10-3.
