Car Overturns, Two People Taken To Hospital

Two women were “transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries” after a car “carrying three women had overturned after the 72 year-old driver collided with a wall” the police confirmed today [August 5].

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:55pm on Sunday 5th August, police and other first responders attended a report of a single vehicle collision which took place along Somerset Road Sandys, in the area of Scaur Hill.

“Initial information suggests that a private motorcar carrying three women had overturned after the 72 year-old driver collided with a wall.

“One woman was able to free herself from the vehicle however, the other two remained trapped until fire service personnel were able to free them.

“Two of the three women were transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

“Traffic along Somerset Road has been restricted to one lane until the overturned vehicle can be removed. Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays.
