Cricket: Premier, First Division Weekend Results

Southampton Rangers, St. David’s Cricket Club, and Devonshire Recreation Club all recorded victories in this weekend’s Premier and First Division cricket action.

Premier Division

Southampton Rangers Win by 7 Wickets: Bailey’s Bay 131 Southampton Rangers 135/3

At the Sea Breeze Oval, host Bailey’s Bay batted first and were bowled out for 131. Terryn Fray was the top scorer for Bailey’s Bay with 28, Janeiro Tucker was the pick of the Southampton Rangers bowlers, and returned figures of 3.5-0-20-5.

In reply the Southampton Rangers scored 135/3, Dion Stovell was back on the wicket where he scored 69 the day before in the Eastern County Final, and scored 69 not out in the Southampton Rangers win. Stovell had 7 fours and 4 sixes, Zeko White returned figures of 1.1-0-13-1 for Bailey’s Bay.

St. David’s Cricket Club Win by 99 Runs: St. David’s Cricket Club 253/3 Western Stars 154/6

Allan Douglas smashed the ball to all corners of Lord’s in St. David’s as he led the home team to 253/3 in 20 overs. Douglas would score 144 off 59 balls, he hit 7 fours and 17 sixes, Ajuan Lambe added 66 runs off 49 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. Khiry Furbert was the pick of the Western Stars bowlers with figures of 4-0-30-1.

In reply Western Stars would score 154/6, Furbert was the top scorer with 40, while Desmond Trott returned figures of 2-0-11-1 for the St. David’s Cricket Club.

First Division

Devonshire Recreation Club Win by 53 Runs: Devonshire Recreation Club 103 Somerset Bridge 50

At the White Hill Field, the Devonshire Recreation clinched a Semi-Final spot with this 53 run victory over the Somerset Bridge. Batting first the Devonshire Recreation Club were bowled out for 103, Oladapo Frederick was the top scorer with 26. Sharye Tavares was the pick of the Somerset Bridge bowlers with figures of 3-0-11-4.

In reply the Somerset Bridge were bowled out for 50, Hewvonnie Brown was the top scorer with 19 before being run out. Levar Talbot was the pick of the Devonshire Recreation Club bowlers with figures of 3.2-1-9-4, while Lethland Beavan Carr bowled 4-1-15-3.
