Last BPBA Season Power Boat Race Cancelled

The Bermuda Power Boat Association has cancelled the last power boat race of the 2018 season which was scheduled to take place tomorrow [Sept 8] at Spanish Point Boat Club, due to the approach of Tropical Storm / Hurricane Florence. The association has planned a meeting for Thursday to decide whether to reschedule the race or not.

In a social media post, BPBA Commodore Robert Cardwell said, “Members, Most unfortunate but with this pending hurricane, even though it appears to be tracking south of us, preparations have already moved into high gear. Whilst weather forecast to race on Sunday are favorable, many of our members are tied up with preparations.

“We are forced to cancel the last race scheduled for this Sunday!”

A members meeting has been scheduled at Spanish Point Boat Club for 7.00pm on Thursday 13th September.
