Two Ship Medical Evacuations To Take Place

Two medical evacuations are set to take place off Bermuda over the next 12 hours, with the container ship ‘MSC Lucy’ and the cruise ship Seven Seas Navigator both due to transfer people in need of medical care.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre is coordinating two ship medical evacuations off Bermuda late tonight and early Saturday morning.

“Panama flagged container ship ‘MSC Lucy’, on route from Charleston, U.S.A. to Algeciras, Spain, is due off the east end at 10pm tonight to disembark an injured crewmember. Patient will be taken ashore via pilot boat ‘St. David’ for transfer to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“Also; cruise ship Seven Seas Navigator, due off Bermuda early Saturday morning [2:00am], for medical evacuation of an 84 YOA female passenger suffering from abdominal pain.

“Patient will be transferred ashore via pilot boat, under escort by ships medical team, and taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“Seven Seas Navigator returns for pilot at 8:00am for St. George’s arrival, departing for New York early Sunday afternoon.”
