Be Wary Of Anyone Trying To Sell Stolen iPhones

[Updated] Following a burglary at Digicel in which several new iPhones were stolen, the police are advising people “to be vigilant regarding anyone attempting to sell the latest model iPhones under unusual circumstances.”

A police spokesperson said, “Inquiries continue regarding a burglary that occurred around 5am Tuesday, October 23rd at the Digicel store on Church Street in the City of Hamilton. It has now been confirmed that several new iPhones were stolen.

“Residents are advised to be vigilant regarding anyone attempting to sell the latest model iPhones under unusual circumstances, especially if they are being offered at reduced prices.

“Detectives are following all lines of inquiry regarding this burglary – as well as an attempted burglary that occurred at the same store around 5:30am Sunday, October 21st – and encourage anyone with any relevant information to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.”

Update October 25, 8.12am: A Digicel spokesperson said, “Digicel can confirm that our store on Church Street suffered a break in and some inventory was stolen.

”We have reported the matter to the police and they are investigating.

”Our number one priority is to ensure that our customers are well taken care of and so we ask that they visit our BTC store or the Digicel office for any assistance.”
