Court: Jury Hears Murder Victim’s Last Words

October 15, 2018

The last words of Bermudian teenager Lyrico Steede were played at the trial of five teenagers accused of his murder, with the trial taking place at the Nottingham Crown Court in England.

This is according to a report by the Nottinghamshire Post, which said, “They were recorded on the camera fitted to the uniform of a police officer trying to help the 17-year-old in a darkened street in Bulwell. A resident called 999 when Lyrico slumped against her front door and asked for help at 7.30pm on February 13.

“With Lyrico’s face and injuries pixelated in the footage, the officer can be heard talking to the stricken youth, who weakly says: “I am going to die.” As other officers arrive and give emergency first aid, the PC tells them: “He says it happened in this area. He says he was stabbed in the back.”

“He then twice asks Lyrico: “How many people attacked you?” He answers: “Four.” The officer asks: “Do you know them at all? Do you know why they did it?” He replies: “No.”

“The five accused – all teenagers – sat silently as the footage was played on TV screens at Nottingham Crown Court.”

19-year-old Kasharn Campbell, 18-year-old Remmell Miller-Campbell and two 17-year-old boys and 16-year-old girl, who the British media cannot name for legal reasons, have all denied the charges, and the trial continues.
