Gurret Serves As Artist In Residence In Cornwall
Nicky Gurret was recently the International Artist in Residence at The Fish Factory Art Space in Penryn, Cornwall, creating various pieces of art during her stay.
Ms Gurret, who works in oils and acrylics and other materials, was drawn to the international artist in residence programme as The Fish Factory Art Space emphasis is on those artists working in contemporary art, experimental art and socially aware art.
Ms Gurret created numerous pieces of oils and acrylics including Beach Art on several of the Cornish Beaches along the peninsula.
She said, “It has been a great opportunity for me to explore the Cornish landscape especially it’s seaside ports and spectacular beaches where the tides are 20 feet and some of the beaches are 5 km long with high cliffs and sweeping sand dunes that provide a dramatic landscape to Beach Art”.
