St. George’s Christmas Boat Parade On Dec 1

October 15, 2018

For the first time St. George’s is going to get its own Christmas Boat Parade and organisers are calling on boat owners to get in touch to take part.

A spokesperson for the St. George’s Boat Parade Committee said: “The harbour at St. George’s is perfect for this kind of event. We expect that ours might start small, but it will grow.

“We wanted to bring some more Christmas spirit to the Old Towne and help build on events like the National Trust’s walkabout. St. George’s is an amazing place and we want to help it do well.”

The spokesperson added: “We thought we should have a boat parade in St George’s as the Old Town has its own New Year’s Eve Party and Santa Claus Parade so why not its own Boat Parade? We want to thank all our sponsors for generously supporting this new event, we are truly very grateful indeed.”

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 1 and boat owners who are interested can email stgeorgesboatparade@gmail.com.

As well as the parade there will be vendors in the Town Square, including Ashley’s Lemonade, Dandy Donuts, Gina Thompson Face Painting, Gussie Godwin’s Inflatables and Bubbles. Commentators will be Jugglin J and Bruce Barritt.

Will this replace the boat parade that usually happens in town?
