Under OBA watch. Zane Desilva take note.

  2. Dready says:

Don’t worry the new tourism Minister will interfere and mess things up!

  3. Grateful says:

Thank you Bill Hanbury. Thank you Kevin Dallas. Thank you BTA. Thank you OBA. Thank you America’s Cup. Thank you Michael Dunkley, Grant Gibbons and Bob Richards.

    • 2 Bermudas says:

I second that!! It is a shame the Pee El Pee have chosen to belittle The Americas Cup for political purposes. Not only does it hurt Bermuda but also every person who contributed towards a first class event that we should all be proud of. The Pee El Pee are classless.

  4. Noncents says:

Better get under that hood and tear it apart

  5. newperspective says:

Very good results. Keep up the good work BTA!!

Jobs are up, revenue is up…. well done OBA. Has anyone done the ratio analysis of every dollar of income to every dollar spent?

    • Wahoo says:

OJ where are you dude? Can you please write something stupid so we can make fun of you.

  6. smile says:

Great job BTA!! Turning the Bermuda Tourism product around and creating Jobs!

Well done and keep up the good work

  7. smile says:

And no… this isn’t just a knock on effect from the US economy doing better. Obviously that helps.

But the BTA has Made Bermuda a relevant and exciting tourism destination again.

My livelihood depends on tourism. When it comes to tourism I don’t care about “Party” I simply want results and BTA has been outstanding as their record shows.
I hope Minister Desilva’s comments are simply soundbites to keep the voting base happy — but that he has enough common sense not to send Bermuda backwards by dismantling a hugely successful tourism authority.

  8. spider says:

yup tear it and get to the bottom of this success

  9. Sister Grace says:

Now let us see what the new boys can do??? A whole lot of bs talk and nothing to show but a decline of visitors. To think they have the nerve to say America’s Cup and the BTA did nothing for our economy. In what year were these clowns born?

  10. Question says:

So if IB left, taxes collected would fall by 84%. Think about that, Burt.

  11. Stevie says:

As usual plp & de silva want to fix something that is not broken.

  12. Stevie says:

Isn’t the first priority to fix the buses/trash trucks?. No. New govt cars, senceless overseas trips. Where are going? Another repeat of 1998-2012. It’s all downhill folks. Leave the BTA alone desiva. All you want is for you to take credit for tourism boost to stoke your so called ego.

  13. Triangle Drifter says:

Of course what is not accounted for are the secondary businesses which provide goods & services to tourism as well as non tourism customers. A much harder figure to quantify but a significant number of people employed & goods imported for the hospitality industry.

AC35 in 2016 & 2017 provided a great spike in the hospitality industry & many support services. You can be sure that PLP negativity has not been lost potential AC35 related visitors. They like a welcoming atmosphere when they are paying big bucks, not unabashed hate.

  14. Rocky5 says:

Will be all downhill from 2017 under Zane & his gang of butcher mechanics!

  15. Real Deal says:

hurry and legalize de herbs then you will see real tourism
