A man who pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill Premier David Burt has had a trial date set for next year.

In August, Jared Gordon denied demanding money from the Premier and also denied threatening the Premier.

At that Court hearing, it was alleged that Mr Gordon sent messages to the Premier demanding money and other items.

He  pleaded not guilty of threatening to murder the Premier via an email on October 13, 2017. That email allegedly said “ignoring me asking for a budget is driving me to a point of me wanting to tell you this, to your face….I would really put a hole in your head.”

At that time, Mr Gordon also pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill the Premier on another date. That alleged threat was also via an email, in Mr Gordon allegedly wrote to Premier Burt that he would pull him out of his house and chop off his head.

His trial is set for April 2019.
