Photos/Video: Christmas Kettle Campaign Kickoff

[Updated with photos] Salvation Army is launching its Christmas Kettle Campaign with their annual Kettle Kickoff this afternoon [Nov 29] in front of City Hall. We will have a photo gallery later on, and in the meantime the live video is below.

A spokesperson said “The kickoff marks the beginning of the Christmas Kettle Campaign, as volunteers and representatives give of their time manning kettles at retail stores throughout the island. The funds raised are used to provide food hampers and toys as well as to assist those in need throughout the year.”

Major Sandra Stokes, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army in Bermuda, said, “We are delighted to begin the Christmas season with the Kettle Kickoff. The Army is thankful for the number of organizations, businesses, churches and other groups that come alongside and partner with us.”

Entertainment included performances by the Dellwood Middle School choir, the new Bermuda Teen Idol winner Dakota Tucker, and The Salvation Army Brass Ensemble.
