Princess To Light Up Gingerbread House & Tree

November 27, 2018

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club will be launching their festive season of activities with a Christmas tree lighting reception on Friday, November 30th.

The event is open to everyone and members of the public are encouraged to come and join in the fun at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club’s lobby, where they will be treated to complimentary Mulled Wine, Hot Apple Cider and Christmas Cookies.

The event runs from 6:45pm until 7:30pm, when the hotel’s lights will be switched on by the General Manager, Tim Morrison, and Santa.

Throughout the event there will be a variety of musical entertainment, including the Clearwater Middle School’s choir, who will play a selection of Christmas carols and seasonal favourites.

The event will also see the lights on the 2018 Gingerbread House turned on for the first time. The hotel has a history of displaying impressive gingerbread creations in the lobby of the hotel throughout the holiday season and this year will be better and bigger than ever. The structure will stand at approximately 7ft tall and is large enough for children to go inside.

Tim Morrison, General Manager at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “We are delighted to be starting holidays in style at Hamilton Princes & Beach Club. We hope people come out to see the lights and the incredible Gingerbread House that our chefs have made and it promises to be a fun and festive evening.”

The hotel has also unveiled its selection of holiday offers and activities for those wanting to find ways to celebrate the season with their friends and family. Throughout the month of December, the resort’s restaurants will be featuring a “Twelve Days of Christmas” inspired cocktail menu, invoking popular holiday flavours.

For children inspired by the Gingerbread House, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is putting on Pastry Decorating Classes where they can learn how to decorate their own gingerbread house or Christmas Tree Cookies. These classes will be led by the hotel’s Pastry Chef, Fhonthip Jones, and are $60 per child [plus gratuities] and include a special afternoon tea.

Afternoon Tea at Crown & Anchor will take on a seasonal twist during December, with wintry flavours being included in the cake and pastries.

On weekends, children can take part in their own version of the staple offering with the Teddy Bear Tea: junior diners are encouraged to bring in a new teddy bear or stuffed animal to be donated to the Family Centre or Salvation Army to share with those less fortunate than themselves.

Santa will be on hand to give out small presents and to hear what they want most under the Christmas tree. Afternoon Tea is $55 per person [$75 with champagne] plus gratuities and Teddy Bear Tea [for children] is $32 plus gratuities or $22 with a toy donation.

For the holiday itself, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club will be serving Christmas dinner menus at its restaurants on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Festive brunches will also be available on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

For those who feel like having Christmas Dinner at home, without the hassle of making it, the hotel is offering a special Christmas to Go option: the hotel will pack up a Roast Turkey with Sage Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Honey Glazed Carrots and a Kale Salad with a choice of dessert from Yule Log or Bermuda Fruit Cake.

Dinner for six people is $250 and a dinner for up to twelve is $400. They can be ordered up until December 21st and can be collected on December 24th or 25th between 11am and 5pm.

Reservations for all festive events and offerings can be made by calling [441] 298-2028 or emailing ham.diningreservations@fairmont.com.
