November 14, 2018

University Of Buckingham law lecturer Dr James Slater is getting set to visit Bermuda later this month in order to meet with alumni, prospective students, and school pupils.

A spokesperson said, “Dr James Slater, who runs the university’s part-time law degree programme, as well as lecturing on its two-year full-time law degree programme, is keen to see a new generation of Bermudian students discover the University of Buckingham, which was, until recently, a very popular higher education destination for Bermudians of all ages.

“At the heart of Dr Slater’s trip, which begins on Tuesday, 27th November, is representing the University at the Bermuda International College and University Fair, which takes place on Thursday, 29th November, in the Gymnasium at The Berkeley Institute from 9.00am to 3.30pm and again from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

“Dr. Slater’s visit will also include presentations at local high schools, including CedarBridge Academy and Bermuda High School. There will be an opportunity for Alumni to meet Dr. Slater during his visit.”

Dr Slater said, “We’ve had so many exemplary students from Bermuda in the past and we’d love to rejuvenate this relationship and see them come to Buckingham in large numbers once again. We’ve always had exceptionally talented students from this dynamic island, which punches above its weight in influence and standing. I’m really looking forward to meeting as many people as possible on my visit.”

“Thanks to the national status of Bermudian students, they pay the same [lower] fees as British domestic students for two-year law degrees.”
