BNAA National Cross Country Championships

December 4, 2018

The Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] is getting set to hold the National Cross Country Championships at Clearwater Beach on Saturday, December 8.

BNAA President Donna Raynor said, “The BNAA are pleased to announce the National Cross Country Championships. We are so excited as we will be hosting the event at the Clearwater Beach for the very first time. We have been advised that this is a very spectator friendly course.

“We will also be announcing at the event the winners of the cross country series as well. We are looking forward to seeing some of our Carifta potential athletes competing in these championships [Ryan Outerbridge, Ashley Irby, Johndell Cumberbatch, Sancho Smith] and of course some of our up and coming athletes who have been competing all season.

“We have had some close races in the open, masters and SNR masters as well. We are not sure whether some of the top road runners will be coming out but it would be great to see them.

“Our Minister of Sport Lovitta Foggo will be presenting the awards. Again this is the first time we are having these championships at Clearwater so we are pretty excited to see how accepting this course will be to the athletes.

“The event begins at 8:30am Saturday December 8th starting with the U10, U12 & U14 followed by all other age groups. Registration is online.”
