Driver Injured In Pembroke Car Collision
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision in the area of Blackwatch Pass and C-Mart this morning [Dec 12] that involved a car hitting a wall resulting in the driver sustaining “serious chest injuries”, according to police.
A police spokesperson said, “Police and first responders are presently at a scene in the area of Blackwatch Pass and C-Mart in Pembroke at 10:08 this morning.
“It appears that a male driver of a car lost control of his vehicle and hit a wall. He is currently being treated at the scene by EMT’s for serious chest injuries and traffic is being diverted in the area.”
Update 3.07pm: A police spokesperson said, “Traffic diversions are no longer in effect on North Shore Road, Pembroke in the vicinity of Black Watch Pass / north gate of Government House.
“Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of the reported single vehicle car crash that occurred a few minutes after 10am and an update on the injured driver’s medical condition is anticipated in due course.
“Any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
Update 5:46pm: A police spokesperson said, “At last check this afternoon [December 12th] the driver injured in a single vehicle car crash on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the north gate of Government House – believed to be a 49-year-old Warwick man – was listed in critical but stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
“The 49-year-old was hurt when the car he was driving struck a wall at 10:08am Wednesday.
“Traffic diversions in the area were in effect for approximately three hours while the scene was processed by the relevant police personnel.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
Update December 13, 3.17pm: A police spokesperson said, “At last check this morning [December 13th] the 49-year-old male driver seriously injured in a single vehicle car crash on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the north gate of Government House at 10:08am Wednesday, December 12th remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
