Sailing: Evans & Patton Conclude In Melbourne

December 16, 2018

Racing at Sail Melbourne International 2018 wrapped up with a full final day of racing across all Olympic and Invited class fleets.

After challenging race disruptions over the four-day event, caused by the current weather system sitting over Australia’s east coast, it was a welcome finish for the close to 400 competitors from all across Australia and from 18 countries.

Bermuda’s Rockal Evans and Campbell Patton both took to the water four three races in each fleet.

Patton would record a 10th place finish overall in the Laser Radial Fleet, this after finishing 9th in the first race, nineteenth in the second race and then he finished a series best sixth in the final race of the Regatta to finish with 37 Net Points.

Evans competing in the Finn Class, would come off the water in 16th place after the three races on the day, Evans would finish 9th in the first race, he would cross the line 13th in the second race and then he would finish the third race in 17 to finish with 91 Net Points after eight races in total.
