Jay Donawa 5K Fun Road Race Set For Dec 16

The Jay Donawa 5K Fun Road Race is set for Sunday, December 16, with junior runners to begin at 8.00am and walkers and adult runners to begin at 8.30am.

A spokesperson said, “It’s that time of the year, with the second annual Jay Donawa 5K Fun Road Race to take place on Sunday, December 16. Junior race [ages 8-16] to start at 8.00am, while both walkers and adult runners will start at 8.30am.

“The entry fee for 16-years-old and under is $5 and 17-years-old and older is $20. Number and t-shirt collection for the first 100 and late registration [$25] will be held on Saturday, December 15 in the parking lot of St. James Church from 9.00am to 12.00pm.”

Entry forms can be dropped off at Sportseller before Friday, December 14 at 4.00pm or register online.

“Adults and walkers will start outside of Boaz Island Gas Station along Middle Road to Prison Officers Club, u-turn then left onto Craddock Road and then back to Boaz Island Field via Kitchener Road.

“Children will start outside of Boaz Island Gas Station along Middle Road right onto Craddock Road and then back to Boaz Island Field via Kitchener Road.

“Parking will be at Boaz Island Field across from Boaz Island Gas Station. All proceeds go toward the 2019 Sandys Parish Council’s Educational Scholarships.

“We are looking for volunteers to assist with marshaling and helping at the water stop; if interested, or with any questions, please contact Race Director Kemda Bean at s_p_c@mail.com.”
