Jan 16: BHS To Host Free Parenting Presentation

January 15, 2019

BHS said they are pleased to welcome back Deana Puccio from The Rap Project, and invited the public to attend her parent presentation tomorrow evening, January 16th from 7pm – 8:30pm.

“Deana Puccio has extensive experience through her personal career as a former Assistant District Attorney from New York City and her work in the Sex Crimes/Special Victims Unit of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn. She co-founded The RAP Project [Raising Awareness and Prevention] for teens and young adults in 2013,” a spokesperson said.

“The initial vision was to address young women and raise awareness around personal safety issues. Now having worked in over 150 schools and spoken to over 40,000 young people, RAP has expanded to young men, parents and corporate employees, and now also addresses internet safety and body image issues.

“We hope you will be able to attend this important session and come away with some valuable tools to help you as parents empower your children to make wise choices online. Her presentations will focus on responsible/irresponsible social media use; likes and dislikes; inappropriate posting of photos and videos; bullying, cyber bullying and other related issues.

“Ms. Puccio will be presenting in the Queen Elizabeth Assembly Hall [Richmond Road entrance] from 7pm – 8:30pm. Parking is available at the Richmond Road entrance and on the Serpentine Road Ramp. Please call 295-6153 if you need more information.

“This is a free information session.”
