BFA Disciplinary Committee To Review Reports

February 19, 2019

Following “incidents at two matches this past weekend that involved unsavory activity,” the BFA said their Disciplinary Committee will be reviewing reports, and reminded football fans that any “proven indiscretions will be dealt with according to the BFA Disciplinary Code and/or Bermuda law.”

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] is aware of incidents at two matches this past weekend that involved unsavory activity. Both incidents are equally serious in nature for different reasons. We abhor any activity that sheds a negative light on the beautiful game.

“As is customary and a part of the post-match protocols the relative reports from the Match Commissioner and Referee will be reviewed, files prepared and presented to the BFA Disciplinary Committee for their consideration.

“We take this opportunity to remind football fans that any proven indiscretions will be dealt with according to the BFA Disciplinary Code and/or Bermuda Law.

“As these matters may be subject to further action it would be inappropriate to comment any further as we do not wish to prejudice any proceedings.”

Wow. So next week I can take the kids to a football game without any concerns? How many times have we heard this kind of language? Sorry but things only get worse and nobody can argue that.

Instead of having the police sit in their cars and vans could some of them get out and walk around and interact with fans. Maybe they could ask the weed smokers to refrain so the rest of us could breath fresh air.

The clubs need to be told that they need to control unruly fans and not leave it to the coaches and players! But then again, the Somerset President declined to comment!!!!

Maybe then, there would be more fans out to games if the atmosphere was improved!

So CURE releases a press statement about the proposed rental tax, but does not think that the racist graffiti on North Shore last week or the racial attacks on a white referee were worth of a mention? Keep in mind that this same ref has stopped refereeing in the past because he was constantly attacked.

    Pathetic!

CURE A group that started off with good intentions and a catchy name , that does nothing and has lost its way!

    CURB, any comments?

Or is racism only towards people of color?
