Football: Cuba Defeat Bermuda In Friendly Match

The Bermuda Men’s Senior National Football team competed in a friendly match against Cuba at the Estadio Pedro Marrero Stadium last night, with Cuba earning a 5 – 0 victory.

Bermuda’s starting line-up included Jahquil Hil, William White, Jaylon Bather, Jahkari Furbert, Chikosi Basden, Kacy Butterfield, Osagi Bascome, Paul Douglas, Lejaun Simmons, Tevahn Tyrell, and Cecoy Robinson, while the substitutes were Kesishon Bean, Liam Evans, Tomiko Goater, Ashton Bell, Dale Eve, Razir Smith Jones, Darren Usher, and London Steede Jackson.

Cuba took the lead in the 20th minute when Jorge Andreus found the back of the net, in the 39th minute the lead was doubled as Arichel Hernandez scored and then on the stroke of half time Hernandez scored his second goal of the match.

In the 84th minute Andreus found the back of the net for a second time in the match, and in injury time Cuba scored their fifth goal as Hernandez converted from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick.
