This morning [Feb 22], Minister of Finance Curtis Dickinson delivered the 2019 Budget in the House of Assembly, which details Government’s financial plans for the upcoming fiscal year.

    So 2018/19 was a disaster. Revenues were lower than budgeted, Op Ex was higher than budgeted, and the deficit was $103m. And the government borrowed another $620m.

    For 2019/20 they are raising taxes dramatically, and raising spending in most government departments. (Except BTA. There, suddenly they can see room for economies) Typical PLP.
    And then he has the gall to pretend it’s a ‘balanced budget’, when the only way to balance it is by failing to contribute the mandatory contributions to the Sinking Fund. So yet again we are borrowing money to pay for trinkets for the PLP insiders, but failing to provide for the future.
