Video: Sunday Feb 17th ‘Good News’ Spotlight

Jonte Smith scoring twice for the Oxford U23 team, 849 lionfish being caught in the Winter Lionfish Derby, golfer Daniel Augustus winning the Orange County Open in Florida, and Bermuda College welcoming Andrew Banks, Peter Durhager and Dr. Wilbert Warner into the Company of Honorary Fellows were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, the Kidderminster Harriers Football Club signed footballer Kacy Milan Butterfield, Ashley Irby won the 800m at the USATF New York and New Jersey Indoor Track & Field Championships, Grant Rivers set a new Bermuda pole vault record, Flora Duffy won a cycling criterium in South Africa, and an essay by Bermudian student and football player Leah Smith was published in NYU Stern’s Student Voices magazine.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Lionfish Winter Derby, the Mr. & Miss CedarBridge pageant, the BNT Plant & Bake sale, the Castle Masters community event, as well as netball, basketball and hockey action.
