Nine People Arrested For Impaired Driving

Nine people were arrested for impaired driving from Friday night [March 8] until Sunday night [March 10].

A police spokesperson said, “A total of nine motorists were arrested for impaired driving offences over the weekend, with road sobriety checkpoints conducted in six parishes from Friday night [March 8th] until Sunday night [March 10th].

“While there are no road sobriety checkpoints scheduled for this coming weekend, members of the public are urged not to drive or ride under the influence as police officers conducting their regular patrols will be on the lookout for any offences, including impaired driving.”

      So you think only Bermudians drink and drive? Stop believing what you hear and read more often…

      It’s going to take time to drive home the point, I think. People have been so used to getting away with that behaviour for so long. It’s not yet socially unacceptable here to drive under the influence so the police will have to continue regular patrols for the near future.
