Video: Sunday March 31st ‘Good News’ Spotlight

News that Bermuda qualified for the Concacaf Gold Cup, Bermudian model Aliana King was featured on the cover of Elle magazine, Fred Stovell held a birthday Charity Golf Tournament with the proceeds being presented to Agape House, the Kids in Construction Showcase was held, EY donated to the Women’s Resource Centre, and Darlington Football Club signed Bermuda’s Osagi Bascome were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, BFA Referee Assistant Tashun Simons officiated two Concacaf Nations League matches, a motorcade was held for Bermuda’s Special Olympics athletes, and the National Mountain Biking Championships results and winners at the Ocean View Club Championships were announced.

Other good news stories included the Pembroke Rotary Club donating $88,000 to schools, Nancy Anne Miller reading her poem Pearl as part of the Angles of Light: Readings of Caribbean Poetry programme, Inshanae Smith winning three events at a VCCS Meet, and seven female writers getting set to be honoured at the Crystal Butterfly Literary Awards on April 7.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the WA Primary Annual Easter Competition, Clarien employees volunteering at Tomorrow’s Voices, Mountain Bike Championship action, a BASA Short Course Swimming Meet, day two of the BHPA Spring Show, the Kids in Construction Showcase, and the WindReach Walk and Roll event.
