Asset Tokenisation At The Ultra Connect Series

Hub Culture hosted the first Ultra Exchange Connect Series on 18 March 2019 in Bermuda and on 27 March 2019 in Hong Kong.

Sponsored by Appleby, the objective was to connect highly influential leaders in blockchain and digital assets through a series of curated events across both jurisdictions.

The events were held at Huckleberry in Bermuda, a member of the Relais & Châteaux group, and at Goodwin Procter in Hong Kong, the Asian office of the leading US law firm.

Appleby said, “Gary Harris, a partner in our Technology & Innovation team [and Insurance team] in Bermuda welcomed guests and kicked off discussions on recent activities in the digital asset sector in Bermuda.

“The event gave leaders in the space the opportunity to provide input on how Bermuda is developing its FinTech and InsurTech industry sectors and how together, we can continue to grow these sectors globally. Associate Jessica Harris who works in our Bermuda employment team and has advised numerous technology clients bringing employees to Bermuda also attended the event.

“Fiona Chan, a partner in our Technology & Innovation team in Hong Kong, shared with the group the latest trends in the FinTech industry in the Asia-Pacific region and the types of work and clients with which Appleby are involved.

“The group discussed the recent legislative and regulatory developments in Bermuda and their experiences of setting up structures using Bermuda vehicles. Senior Associate Prabha Sasidharan also attended the event. The series in Hong Kong finished with a luncheon attended by a mix of industry stakeholders, sponsored by Appleby.”
