Sailors Begin South American Championships

A day after the Opening Ceremony, Bermuda sailors joined 160 sailors from 16 other countries as they took to the water for the 2019 South American Championships in Algarrobo, Chile.

After three races on the Opening Day, six of the Bermuda sailors are in the top 100 in the Fleet.

Christian Ebbin is leading the Bermuda Fleet as he is in 13th place with 19 Net Point, Ebbin recorded finishes of 5th, 3rd and 11th.

Rachel Betschart is in 40th place with 53 Net Points with her best finish coming in the first race when she crossed the line in 8th place.

Laura Hupman is holding down the 44th place with 57 Points, while Magnus Ringsted is in 45th with 58 Points.

Ava Adams is in 55th place with 64 Points, Sebastian Kempe is 99th with 99 Points, while Kipling Rossouw is 109th with 106 Points.

Ben Redburn is in 117th with 114 Points, while Nicole Stovell is in 118th place with 115 Points. Amelia Lewis is in 130th with 124 Points.
